A day in the life...

Nothing fancy, just a smattering of my thoughts and adventures here in the last frontier.

Port Graham - Russian New Year 2008

I was supposed to have gone to Port Graham for Christmas but got snowed out but we made it in for Russian New Year. There is a ton of snow here and I'm loving it! We hardly have any snow in Anchorage so I've been having fun playing in it and trying not to get stuck. It's super deep, past our waists if we were to stand on the ground! I can't remember even having snow this deep! Storman is shoveling off the top of the smokehouse and Coal is supervising.

We went snowshoeing yesterday and had to break trail the entire way. What hard work but it was worth it, so quiet and beautiful!! I should have made Storman break trail the whole way =).

Storman masking last night in his Uppa old coat.

It was too icy to go out in the skiff so instead I learned how to drive the 4wheeler!! It's a manual so the ride was a bit jerky at the beginning as I mastered shifting! I managed it without throwing Storman off the back! Almost froze my face off but it was worth it!

The hill was not fun, definitely easier on the way back!
